Ciara and Russell Wilson are married, announcing, ‘We are The Wilsons!’
Ciara and Russell Wilson are married, the singer and the Seattle Seahawks quarterback confirmed Wednesday via social media.
“We are The Wilsons!,” they both posted on Instagram and Twitter, captioning a picture of themselves celebrating, him in white tie and her in a lacy white Roberto Cavalli gown.
The evening ceremony went down at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England, in front of family and friends, People reported. (The bride’s “something old” might have been the venue itself, which dates to the mid-1800s.)
Famous friends on hand included Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Hudson and La La Anthony, according to various reports. Serena Williams couldn’t make it because of her Wimbledon semi-finals match, E! News said, but JHud managed to post a sneak peek for fans on Instagram ahead of the ceremony.
Ciara's rep could not be immediately reached for comment.
Secrecy was a priority, according to TMZ, with guests – who were shuttled from a central location to the venue, to keep the location off the radar – asked to surrender their cellphones before the event.
The couple hosted a rehearsal dinner for about 100 guests Tuesday night at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool, and thanks them all for attending, E! News reported.
“Ciara and Russell couldn't keep their hands off of each other," a source told the outlet. "The love was strong in the room.”
Vows between the singer, 30, and the NFL pro, 27, presumably bring to an end the couple's pre-marriage abstinence, which has been just as famous as the celebrity couple and perhaps more well-known than Ciara's messy custody battle with Future over their 2-year-old son, Future Zahir, and her $15-million defamation suit against her ex-fiance.
Have a nice night, newlyweds.
