Future drops lawsuit against ex Ciara after getting to spend more time with their son
Hip-hop artist Future has reportedly asked a judge to dismiss a lawsuit he filed against his ex-fiancée and mother of his son, 30-year-old Ciara, because he’s getting what he wants: more time with his 2-year-old son, Future Zahir.
Future and Ciara had been locked in a bitter custody battle over their son for months. Ciara, who is now engaged to NFL star Russell Wilson, filed a $15-million lawsuit against Future for defamation for implying she was a bad mother, and he in turn countersued. But, according to TMZ, Future has now had a change of heart and asked that his suit be dismissed to keep the peace.
Earlier this year, Future took to social media to protest not being able to see his son. In a series of tweets — one aimed at Ciara and her alleged “control problems” — that have since been deleted from his account, the “Jumpman” artist tweeted, “I gotta go through lawyers to see babyfuture…for 15k a month,” and “I been silent for a year & a half..I ran outta patience.”
The former couple got engaged in October 2013 but broke off any plans of marriage just months after they welcomed baby Future Zahir in May 2014.
Last month, Ciara asked a court for sole custody of their son but was denied. The pair now share joint custody.
