L.A. Laker Nick Young’s pregnant ex, Keonna Green, talks: She says she tried to tell Iggy Azalea
Keonna Green, Nick Young’s ex, is telling her side of the story. You know, the story that included Iggy Azalea dumping Young for allegedly bringing other women to their house while the rapper was out of town and escalated when it turned out Green was four months’ pregnant.
The baby is “200% Nick’s child,” Green told Us Weekly. “He’s always supportive, but he was in shock. With him being in a public relationship, he didn’t know how to handle it.... I felt it was his decision how to handle it.”
Young’s high school sweetheart said she wishes Azalea “a lifetime of success” and tried unsuccessfully to reach out to the Aussie to tell her what was going on with her man, but isn’t about to apologize.
The fact that she and her ex reconnected in September “wasn’t a secret on my end,” Green said. “I didn’t feel guilty because I was in love with a man, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only woman.”
The couple, who met in 2002 and according to Green were in each other’s lives for years until Young’s relationship with Azalea went public, got back together while co-parenting son Nicholas Jr., she told Us.
“We would take our son to Magic Mountain together. But sometimes Nick would say, ‘Oh, there’s too much traffic,’ and he’d just play with Nicholas in his room. We got caught up in the moment and it just happened. I would be like, ‘Nick, you cannot be sloppy. You need to be honest [with Azalea].’ He would say, ‘I don’t want to hear it.’” Green said she considered telling the rapper, who’d gotten engaged to the basketball player only months before.
They’ve since ended the once-reignited intimate part of the relationship, Green added.
At the same time, Azalea has purged her Twitter feed of all things related to her breakup with Young, wiping out the bulk of the month of June, including tweets that went up after the pregnancy went public, in which she said she felt as if she’d been kicked in the gut and had no idea who she’d been loving while she was with her ex-fiance.
The rapper’s attorney is now playing offense.
A letter to Green’s people, obtained by TMZ and published Monday, warned, “Any mention of Iggy in your client’s efforts to sell a story to whatever tabloid needs to fill its pages with the fetid story of your client’s classless antics will be considered a violation of Iggy’s rights of publicity ... subjecting Ms. Green and any publication that airs your client’s soiled laundry to significant liability.”
Young got attention on his own over the holiday weekend, picking up a lighted firework from the ground and holding onto it until it exploded.
Then he took a shot at someone – it’s unclear exactly who – late Tuesday on Twitter. “Pls stop making up these lies,” he said, posting about 12 hours before Green’s interview went live.
