Donny and Marie will appear at the Flamingo in 2016 -- and at Madame Tussauds too
The Donny & Marie Showroom soon won’t be the only place in Las Vegas to see the two best-known Osmond siblings. Their likenesses are also being immortalized at Madame Tussauds.
Their wax figures won’t be unveiled until early next year, but until then, you can see the duo at the Flamingo: Donny and Marie recently announced they’re extending their performances at the Flamingo through 2016.
After the signing of the new contract, tickets are on sale for dates from February through November. They sell for $95-$260, plus tax.
Since opening in September 2008, Donny & Marie have performed more than 1,200 shows.
The singers will soon be the latest attraction farther north along the Strip at Madame Tussauds.
The process of creating wax likenesses begins as studio artists use calipers to take nearly 300 precise body and facial measurements. Hair and eye colors are also identically matched before plaster casts are made.
Those casts are eventually filled with wax. Numerous layers of paint are then applied to the figures, and acrylic eyes and teeth are put in place.
A specific date for the unveiling hasn’t been announced, although museum officials say it will be during the first quarter of next year.
Marie, 56, and Donny, 57, are the second and third youngest of the nine Osmond siblings.
