Con los Golden Globe aún bajo una nube luego de meses de controversia, la Asociación de Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood. avanzó el lunes, revelando sus nominaciones por los logros del año en cine y televisión, a pesar de que su habitual transmisión televisiva repleta de estrellas que presenta los premios ha sido descartada para 2022.

El asediado grupo de periodistas internacionales que reparte los Globos ha estado luchando por volver a agradecer a Hollywood desde que una investigación del Times reveló que la asociación no tenía miembros negros además de acusaciones detalladas de errores económicos y éticos dentro del grupo. En mayo, NBC interrumpió la transmisión y dijo que la HFPA necesitaba tiempo para entregar una “reforma significativa”.

En los meses transcurridos desde entonces, la HFPA ha revisado sus estatutos y ha agregado a 21 nuevos miembros, incluidos seis que son negros, y ha contratado a un nuevo director de diversidad. Aún así, los estudios, las redes y las estrellas continúan manteniendo al grupo a distancia, lo que arroja dudas sobre cuán significativos serán los Globos de este año. Si bien la HFPA entregará sus premios el 9 de enero en una ceremonia aún por determinar, no está claro en este momento si alguien realmente estará disponible para aceptarlos.
