Sophie Hunter (Mrs. Benedict Cumberbatch) shows off couture wedding gown
Now that's what we call a cumbergown!
Benedict Cumberbatch's new wife's couture wedding gown has been revealed by Valentino -- and it's a stunner.
The Italian design house shared a photo of actress Sophie Hunter during a pre-wedding fitting, and the pregnant bride-to-be looked resplendent surrounded by a throng of staffers from the atelier. Chandeliers and table-top presentations should be required at all fittings.
The image, which shows off the high-neck gown with its sheer long sleeves and lacy train, was shot by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz and will be featured in an upcoming issue of fashion bible Vogue.
By Friday, the image had been removed from the Valentino Instagram page, but could be viewed elsewhere.
"Beautiful Sophie Hunter with Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli prepping her couture dress for her March wedding to Benedict Cumberbatch. #magicmoment #sophiehunter #benedictcumberbatch photographed by #AnnieLeibovitz for @voguemagazine," the Instagram post said.
Hunter and the "Sherlock" and "The Imitation Game" actor actually wed on Valentine's Day on the Isle of Wight, a rep confirmed last month. Celebrity guests included Cumberbatch's "War Horse" costar Tom Hiddleston and "Sherlock" costar Martin Freeman.
The couple announced their engagement in November with a traditional newspaper listing in the Times of London rather than posting the news on social media. In January, they confirmed that Hunter is pregnant with their first child.
