Benedict Cumberbatch, fiancee Sophie Hunter expecting a baby
Benedict Cumberbatch and fiancée Sophie Hunter are expecting a baby together and -- surprise -- are “both over the moon” about it.
The actor’s rep confirmed the news Wednesday in a statement to publications including People and the New York Daily News.
The 38-year-old star of “The Imitation Game,” who’s up for a best actor Golden Globe on Sunday, got engaged to the theater director and actress in November, with the news publicized via a traditional wedding announcement in the Times of London.
Looks like Cele|bitchy was right a few days back when, in analyzing Hunter’s appearance with her man on the Palm Springs International Film Festival red carpet, the website noted that the 36-year-old looked a wee bit second-trimester pregnant.
Sometimes a loose-fitting dress and a strategically placed clutch purse do mean something? Especially when you add a blossoming bosom to the mix.
Also on that red carpet, Cumberbatch told PopSugar he was taking “One thing at a time” when it came to award-season duties and wedding planning.
At PSIFF, “The Imitation Game” won for ensemble performance in a film. During his acceptance speech on behalf of the group, Cumberbatch dedicated the award to Alan Turing, whom he plays in the movie.
