Kristen Stewart is dating assistant Alicia Cargile, actress’ mom says

Kristen Stewart’s mom confirmed what’s been rumored for a while: The actress is dating personal assistant Alicia Cargile.

“I feel like people need to be free to love whoever they want,” Jules Stewart told the Sunday Mirror. “I accept my daughter loves women and men. It’s OK to be who you are in my world. We all choose our friends, so we should be free to choose our lovers.”

Jules Stewart has met and likes Cargile, she said, and her daughter is happy.

Kristen Stewart, who played a star’s assistant in “Clouds of Sils Maria” and in the process became the first American actress to take home a Cesar Award, discussed the nature of the celeb-assistant relationship with Conan O’Brien in April.

“You end up kind of hiring a buddy, a confidante, somebody to organize your schedule, but in addition to that, like, kind of live with you, essentially,” Stewart said. “It’s more complicated than, ‘Go buy me tampons because I’m too embarrassed to go to Rite-Aid to do it myself.’ ”

Talking to the Mirror, Jules Stewart also reflected on her daughter’s high-profile relationship with “Twilight” costar Robert Pattinson.

“I’m very sad that Kristen and Robert didn’t have a chance to be alone together,” she said. “They had to have the whole world with them; and all the public stuff ruined everything; life became overwhelming.”

KStew and RPattz broke up for good in May 2013. Pattinson is now reportedly engaged to FKA Twigs.
