Robert Pattinson, FKA Twigs, T-Pain and an April Fools’ Day joke -- maybe
Robert Pattinson may or may not be engaged to singer FKA Twigs.
The “Twilight” alum and the bewitching recording artist were outed as affianced on Wednesday by Auto-Tuner extraordinaire T-Pain. The rapper, who said he draws inspiration from the British singer-songwriter, spilled the beans in a Q&A with Vulture. Later, however, he took it back.
Here’s how it went down in the interview:
Will FKA Twigs be on your new album?Well, the first time we even met each other, we met in the studio. Her music’s changed a lot since then. But she’s on tour so much, and anytime I call her, she’s in a different place. And she’s engaged now, so that’s about to be a whole other thing. [Laughs.]Wait, she’s engaged? That’s news to me.Yeah, to ol’ Patty [Robert Pattinson]. I don’t know if she wanted anybody to know that …

Sounds like an honest slip-up, no? But then the rapper took to social media to debunk the revelation.
“Added a little #AprilFools to my interview with Vulture Magazine today. Check it out!!!!” he wrote on Instagram, captioning a drawing of two engagement rings.
Either he’s a skilled trickster, or somebody had him do damage control.
For a while, that seemed to be the end of it -- until People chimed in with confirmation of the engagement news with its own unnamed sources. Gossip Cop also seemed baffled by the development and rated the engagement a 5 out of 10 on its real-or-rumor scale.
RPattz, 28, and FKA Twigs, 27, have remained mum on the topic, and reps for both did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
What we do know is that the “Life” actor has been romantically linked to the edgy songstress, real name Tahliah Barnett, since August. The following month, they were photographed holding hands in public on Venice Beach. They’ve been out and about together frequently since then and -- this is quaint -- reportedly recently exchanged promise rings, People said.
