Halle Berry marries French actor Olivier Martinez in France

Halle Berry and her beau Olivier Martinez have wed after about three years of dating.

Berry, 46, who is expecting a baby with Martinez, 47, wed the French actor on Saturday at the Chateau des Conde in Vallery, France, her rep told People.

The couple tied the knot in a civil union in the small chateau at about 4:15 p.m. in a civil ceremony officiated by the local mayor, the site said. The couple followed that with a religious ceremony in the village chapel at 5:30 p.m. Berry is said to have arrived in a white vintage car wearing a simple cream gown with embellished straps.

“White marquees were put up, and everyone was very discreet because it was a show-business wedding,” a local told Us Weekly. “But generally it was pretty down to earth.”

Guests then enjoyed dinner under an arbor, and a fireworks display to celebrate the newlyweds. About 60 guests were in attendance, including Martinez’s mother Rosemarie, his brother Vincent and Berry’s daughter Nahla, 5, whom she had with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey.

“I do know [the wedding] will be very small,” the Oscar-winning actress told InStyle magazine in June. “I haven’t been to many weddings, but I went to one this weekend with 250 guests. I thought, ‘Wow — so this is a wedding, huh?’ I’ve never had that, nor have I wanted that. I wasn’t even trying to catch the bouquet!”

This is Martinez’s first marriage; he has previously been linked to British pop star Kylie Minogue. Berry has been married twice before: First to baseball player David Justice from 1993 to 1997 and then to singer Eric Benet from 2001 to 2005. After the divorces, the actress said that she didn’t want to be a wife ever again.

“I will never, never get married again,” the “X-Men: Days of Future Past” star told InStyle in 2007. “Actually it’s just that now I’ve come to a place where I think two people can share their lives without the ring, without the piece of paper.”

The newly minted Mrs. Martinez has obviously changed that tune.

Berry met her new husband while filming the adventure drama “Dark Tide” in mid-2010, shortly after her breakup with French model Aubry. She and Martinez went public as a couple in October of that year. The two announced their engagement in March 2012 soon after Martinez proposed with an emerald green engagement ring by Paris designer Robert Mazlo. In April 2013, the duo confirmed the surprising news that they were expecting a baby together.

“I feel fantastic,” the 46-year-old told CNN of her pregnancy. “This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth. Thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful.”

In June, Martinez revealed they would be having a boy.

“My son will be an American, but I remain French,” he said during opening night of the Champs-Elysees film festival.
