Guy Pearce, ‘Game of Thrones’ star Carice van Houten are having a baby
The Red Priestess is with child! Carice van Houten is pregnant with her first baby with actor Guy Pearce.
Van Houten, who plays the calculating Melisandre on HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” and the “Memento” alum showed off their sense of humor when they announced the news on Twitter over the weekend.

“Ok. I’m ready for your shadowbaby jokes,” the actress, 39, tweeted Saturday, referencing the shadowy demon-child Melisandre birthed to Stannis Baratheon in Season 2 of the Emmy-winning HBO series.
“Nothing like the prospect of a shadowbaby to change your mind about becoming a Father !!” Pearce, 48, added, later thanking fans and followers for their “lovely messages.”
No word yet on when the couple’s little one is due.

The Dutch actress and Pearce, who worked together on the western thriller “Brimstone” last year, sparked relationship rumors earlier this year when they stepped out together in Los Angeles, E! News reported. The romance comes about a year after Pearce split with Kate Mestitz, his wife of 18 years, in January 2014.
Pearce is currently starring in the Aussie TV series “Jack Irish” and Van Houten will return as the Red Priestess in Season 6 of “Game of Thrones,” which premieres April 24.
