About this time last year, Tom Hanks was casting off a house in Pacific Palisades. This time around, the producer, director and leading man is dipping into the Westside’s lease market.

Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have put a three-bedroom home in Pacific Palisades up for rent at $7,500 a month.

Marked by a white picket fence, the renovated Cape Cod-inspired house features dark wood floors, large picture windows and an updated kitchen with marble countertops. Within the 2,476 square feet of space is a living room with a fireplace, a formal dining room and a family room that opens to a patio space through French doors.

Three bedrooms occupy the second floor, including a master suite with a fireplace and a large bay window. A small balcony extends off of another bedroom.

Behind the house is a detached garage.

Hanks, 58, won a pair of Oscars for his work in “Forrest Gump” (1994) and “Philadelphia” and was nominated for lead actor for “Big” (1988), “Saving Private Ryan” (1998) and “Cast Away.” He is set to star in the upcoming Steven Spielberg film “Bridge of Spies,” due out later this year.

Last year, Hanks sold a 1920s Spanish-style villa in Pacific Palisades for $5.025 million.

Wilson, 58, has appeared on the TV series “Girls” and “The Good Wife.” Among her film credits is “Sleepless in Seattle” (1993), “Jingle All the Way” (1996) and “Runaway Bride” (1999).

The couple maintain another Pacific Palisades estate, which they purchased from producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall five years ago for more than $26 million. Built in 1996, that house has four bedrooms and five bathrooms in more than 14,500 square feet of living space.
