‘Gossip Girl’ actress Leighton Meester finds a buyer in Encino
Actress-singer Leighton Meester, known for her role as Blair Waldorf on the CW series “Gossip Girl,” has sold her home in Encino for $2.015 million.
Hedged by tall trees and a gated entrance, the single-story Contemporary was built in 1948 and extensively renovated for indoor-outdoor living.
Interiors replete with dark wood floors feature a living room with a wall fireplace, a formal dining room and an eat-in kitchen with a breakfast bar. Hidden wall speakers, video surveillance and other smart home features are among recent upgrades.
The master suite has a fireplace and an expanded master closet for a total of four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in 2,847 square feet.
French doors off of common areas open to an outdoor living room topped by an open-beam trellis. Elsewhere, a saltwater pool and a separate pool house with a changing room and wet bar complete the tree-topped setting.
The house originally came on the market in January for $2.35 million and was more recently priced at about $2.1 million. It previously went for $1,457,500 in 2011, records show.
Michael Morabito of Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent. Steven Kirshbaum of the Agency represented the buyer in the sale.
Meester, 29, starred on “Gossip Girl” from 2007-12 and has appeared in such films as “Country Strong” (2011) and “That’s My Boy” (2012). As a singer, she released her first studio album, “Heartstrings,” last year.
