Laraine Newman of ‘SNL’ fame lists Westwood house with vintage character
“Saturday Night Live” veteran Laraine Newman has listed her longtime home in Westwood for sale at $2.549 million.
The 1930 Spanish-style house has lots of character, with arched doorways, period fixtures and tilework. The living room has a fireplace and a retractable television, the dining room opens to a balcony and the kitchen features a center island, stainless-steel appliances and granite counters. It connects to a family room.
The master bedroom has an office for a total of four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
There’s a drought-tolerant yard, a back patio and a swimming pool with spa.
Newman, 63, is a sketch artist, comedienne and voice actress. She was part of the original “SNL” in 1975 and had a five-year stint on the show originating such roles as alien Connie Conehead. A founding member of the Groundlings improv group, her recent voice work includes this year’s animated series “The Adventures of Puss in Boots.”
She bought the property in 1979 for $279,000, public records show. Hat tip goes to Celebrity Address Aerial for spotting for property.
James Bremner of Gibson International is the listing agent.
