New Sacramento King Iman Shumpert scores a fresh contemporary home in Studio City
Pro basketball player Iman Shumpert and singer-actress Teyana Taylor, whose VH1 reality show “Teyana & Iman” is set to premier in March, have bought a home in Studio City for $2.996 million.
Competed last year, contemporary-style house is visually dramatic with offset rooflines and a monochromatic facade. The wide front of the home gives way to a wealth of open-plan space highlighted by 12-foot-high ceilings and Italian tile floors.
Accented by custom lighting, the 5,700-square-foot floor plan contains a living room and dining area, a chef’s kitchen with an island and a home theater. Pocketing doors open to the backyard, which has a modern fountain feature, an outdoor kitchen and a swimming pool and spa.
The master bedroom is on the second floor and has a fireplace, a walk-in closet and a balcony that overlooks the pool. There are five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms in all.
The house hit the market in November for $3.198 million, records show.
Arman Arzuman and Andrew Vi of Arzuman Brothers were the listing agents. George Murphy of Keller Williams Studio City represented the buyers.
Shumpert, 27, on Thursday was traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Sacramento Kings in a multi-player deal. The defensive-minded guard-forward was drafted 17th overall by the New York Knicks in 2011. He was traded in 2015 to Cleveland, with whom he won an NBA title the following year.
Taylor, 27, released her debut studio album, “VII,” on Kanye West’s GOOD Music label in 2014. Two years later, the artist starred in West’s “Fade” music video, which also featured Shumpert. She and the basketball player were married in 2016.
