Former Disney television head seeks a buyer or tenant in Malibu
Gary Krisel, the former president of network television for Walt Disney Pictures, has put his oceanfront home in Malibu up for sale at $7.9 million. Alternatively the Cape Cod-inspired house in gated Malibu Cove Colony can be leased for $25,000 a month.
Built in 1972, the light and airy two-story house takes full advantage of the climate with an enclosed courtyard and surf-facing balconies. Expansive decking along the main floor overlooks 60 feet of sandy beachfront. Unobstructed views extend up and down the coastline.
A living room with a fireplace, a center-island kitchen, a media room and an office lie within more than 3,400 square feet of living space. Beamed ceilings top the master suite for a total of three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
Krisel bought the property more than a decade ago for $4.65 million, public records show. In October, based on 19 sales, the median sales price for single-family homes in Malibu was $3.5 million, according to CoreLogic.
Kathryn Bentzen and Sarah Ribnick of Partners Trust are the co-listing agents.
Krisel was responsible for all network programming, including the “Disney Sunday Movie” and “The Disney Afternoon,” while at Walt Disney Pictures. He left the company in 1995 to join DreamWorks SKG in a similar role.
