Sammy Hagar seeks $5.9 million for his grand chateau on Lake Arrowhead
The Red Rocker is ready to sell.
Sammy Hagar, 70, the rock vocalist who fronted the bands Montrose and Van Halen, has two homes on the market: a sprawling Hawaiian retreat set on a cliff in Waipio Bay, and now this majestic French chateau-inspired home listed for $5.9 million.
Nestled atop a sloping lot overlooking Lake Arrowhead, the home offers views of the water from four different levels. Dark hardwood accents vaulted ceilings in the elegant living spaces.
The main kitchen features two large islands topped with granite, while a second kitchen leads out to a deck holding a spa, fire pit, wine fridge and grill. Four sets of French doors open to a sloping patio.
The 8,057-square-foot home also holds a game room, a lounge on every floor, and, fittingly, a soundproof recording studio.
The master suite, one of eight bedrooms, sits under 30-foot ceilings. The space holds a custom walk-in closet, sauna and private deck overlooking the lake.
Hagar bought the home for $2.3 million in 2009, records show.
Hagar was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007 for his tenure with Van Halen.
David Vail of Capre and Shelli Cotriss hold the listing.
