Debbie Reynolds’ former Midcentury home gets a touch-up in Palm Springs
A Palm Springs home once owned by late singer-actress Debbie Reynolds is on the market post-renovation for $665,000.
Reynolds reportedly bought the Midcentury Modern spot in the early 1960s for her parents, Raymond Francis and Maxene Reynolds. It was owned by the family for more than two decades before they sold it in 1987 for $79,500, records show.
Built by the Alexander Construction Company in 1959, the single-story house opens to 1,225 square feet of living spaces lined with polished concrete floors.
Touch-ups include two remodeled bathrooms, stone countertops in the kitchen and a new front door. Beamed ceilings hang over the living room, dining area and three bedrooms. Sliding glass doors along the back of the home lead outside, where a covered patio sits adjacent to a pool.
Records show the home last sold in 2016 for $470,000.
Roddy de la Garza of Redfin is the listing agent.
Reynolds, who passed away in 2016 at 84, was known for her classic roles in “Singin’ in the Rain” (1952), “The Catered Affair” (1956) and “Tammy and the Bachelor” (1957).
She earned an Oscar nomination as the star of the 1964 film “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.”
