This 13-acre Caribbean paradise can only be bought with Bitcoins
In the current market, $600 might buy you a small room for a month in Los Angeles. But 600 Bitcoins will buy you Bloody Bay, a 13-acre slice of beachfront land that is up for sale in the Caribbean.
Better hope you invested early in the cryptocurrency, which is the only accepted method of payment for the tropical plot. At the current rate, which fluctuates in real time, 600 Bitcoins translates to around $9.3 million.
The land is on Union Island, an English-speaking island with a population of around 3,000, according to the developer. Dense trees, clear waters and white sands highlight the area, which is a part of the nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Included with the property are mock-ups for a contemporary villa-style home, a beachfront bar and a collection of luxury cabins designed by architect Seth Stein.
The steep price tag may keep most at bay, but had someone picked up 600 Bitcoins at the beginning of 2017, it would’ve cost them less than $600,000.
