Deal: $50 lift tickets on Mammoth Mountain ski area’s opening day
Mammoth Mountain ski area fires up for the season on Nov. 10, with $50 opening-day lift tickets to lure early-bird bargain hunters.
The deal: The Mammoth Lakes ski resort, a five-hour drive from Los Angeles, will also offer free coffee and hot cocoa to mark its season opening.
You can buy $50 adult lift tickets now online for opening day. By comparison, adult lift tickets on other November days will cost you $89, according to a check of online prices.
Also, opening-day tickets cost $41 for seniors and children (13 to 22 years old) and $20 for young kids.
The first chair — the famed Broadway — will open at 8:30 a.m. Drink specials will be available all day at the Main Lodge sun deck and Tusks Bar.
When: The offer is good Nov. 10 only.
Details: Mammoth is hoping for a repeat of last season, when snowfall totals returned to average levels, about 400 inches a year.
But keep this in mind: Opening dates are always subject to change, depending on early or late snows.
Mammoth’s Nov. 10 scheduled opening is one of the earliest in the West. Park City in Utah, Vail in Colorado, and Heavenly in Lake Tahoe all plan to open Nov. 18. Though Mammoth’s opening seems early, it is within a few days of opening dates the last couple of years.
