At last, self-check-in kiosks come to these Las Vegas hotels
After a long drive up Interstate 15 to Las Vegas, you’re either ready to unwind or get the party started -- without waiting in a long line to check in to your room. Three hotels on the Strip are helping that happen with new self-check-in kiosks.
Kiosks that allow guests to cut the line are now operating in the lobbies of Caesars Palace, Flamingo and The Linq. The self-serve machines will be arriving at five other hotels later this year.
The kiosks operate much the same as those at airports and car rental facilities.
After swiping an ID and a credit card, guests receive the all-important room keys. If housekeeping has yet to service the assigned room, the guest will get an email once it’s ready.
The kiosks rolled out last month at Caesars Palace, which is sometimes infamous for slow-moving lines at hotel registration. Hopefully the self-service option will speed things up.
That said, parent company Caesars Entertainment is hinting that eliminating human interaction at check-in altogether may be the wave of the future.
According to a news release, the “new kiosk program is the latest stage in a technology solution to completely automate the check-in process.”
The gaming giant plans to install kiosks this year at its other five Las Vegas hotel-casino resorts: Bally’s, Harrah’s, Paris, Planet Hollywood and Rio.
