Pickups at John Wayne Airport (SNA) just got a little easier. The Orange County airport has opened a cellphone parking lot near the corner of MacArthur Boulevard and Campus Drive where drivers can cool their heels.

The airport officially opened the lot Tuesday morning, which should help ease parking and traffic inside the airport.

Parking in the cellphone lot is open 24 hours a day and is free, but you can wait only for two hours. And, as always, you can’t leave your car while you’re waiting to pick up someone.

Here is a recap of other waiting areas at Southern California airports:

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) cellphone waiting lot is open 24 hours a day, and drivers may wait for free for up to two hours. It is between Airport and Sepulveda boulevards on 96th Street.

Bob Hope Airport (BUR) doesn’t have a dedicated cellphone waiting lot. Short-term parking close to the airport costs $3 for 30 minutes and $5 for the first hour.

L.A./Ontario International Airport (ONT) cellphone waiting lot is open at 1940 E. Moore Way. (After a long battle, this airport soon will be operated under a joint agreement between San Bernardino County and the city of Ontario.)

San Diego International Airport (SAN) cellphone Lot is open 24 hours a day. There are 97 spaces, and users are able to check flight information. Maximum wait time is 60 minutes.

Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) park & call lot is a little hard to find. Enter from Ramon Road to Kirk Douglas Parkway; it’s immediately on the left.
