Tim Tebow is hired by ESPN as an analyst for its SEC Network
Is Tim Tebow’s playing career over? It looks that way after it was announced Tuesday that he had been hired by the SEC Network as an analyst for its “SEC Nation” show,
The SEC Network is owned by ESPN.
“I am so excited that ESPN has given me this incredible opportunity,” Tebow said. “When I was 6 years old I fell in love with the game of football, and while I continue to pursue my dream of playing quarterback in the NFL, this is an amazing opportunity to be part of the unparalleled passion of college football and the SEC.”
Tebow’s first appearance on “SEC Nation” will be Thursday, Aug. 28, for the Texas A&M at South Carolina game. If you want to see him on the air sooner, ESPN said its new hire will make a couple of appearances on ESPN before this season’s BCS title game next Monday.
“Tim is an SEC icon with a national fan base and broad appeal. He will be a significant contributor to the compelling content we will deliver with the SEC Network,” Justin Connolly, ESPN senior vice president, said. “Tim brings a wealth of knowledge about the game, the conference and the passion among SEC fans.”
