Listen to Bootsy Collins’ funked-up holiday tribute to Peyton Manning

Peyton Manning surely is discovering the perks of being named Sports Illustrated’s sportsman of the year.

Not the least of which seems to be getting your own tribute song and video performed by none other than Bootsy Collins.

No joke! Sports Illustrated For Kids has released a music video of Bootzilla singing a funky (of course) homage to the Denver Broncos quarterback set to the tune of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.”

Titled “Peyton Manning’s Passing Your Way,” Collins dedicates the jam to NFL defensive backs. Sample lyrics:

With little hand signs
And little pump fakes
He’ll find the right read
And do what it takes.

OK, so it’s not exactly poetry. But, hey ... it’s Bootsy, baby!
