Watch Paul McCartney try really hard to catch T-shirt at Nets game
Paul McCartney is a lover, not a fighter.
Wait, that was Michael Jackson.
Well, it turns out that the same goes for Jackson’s singing partner in the classic ‘80s hit “The Girl Is Mine.”
And it’s a good thing, too, or else things might have gotten ugly at Barclays Center, where he stopped by Monday night to watch the Brooklyn Nets stomp the Philadelphia 76ers.
And, apparently, to get a free Nets T-shirt.
Check out Sir Paul’s reaction when they brought out the T-shirt cannons and one of the garments appeared to be headed in his direction. The Beatles legend went bonkers, declaring, “It’s mine!”
Luckily, McCartney was able to laugh it off when he came up emptyhanded, telling the lucky spectator who came up with the coveted top, “It was mine.”
Yes, the ex-Wings frontman really did come that close to paraphrasing himself from the Jackson duet. Unfortunately, he did not utter the phrase, “the doggone shirt was mine,” but we can keep dreaming.
