Clippers change their website to one message: ‘We Are One’
Moments after NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced that he was banning Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life, fining him $2.5 million and urging other owners to expel him from the league, the Clippers made an interesting change to their website.
If you went to www.clippers.com, you were taken to page that had only three words on it: “We Are One,” an obvious response to the controversy.
Seth Burton, the Clippers’ vice president of communications, said that “as an organization we wanted to make a stand, apart from Sterling’s comments. As players, coaches and an organization we don’t agree with those comments.”
The Clippers are in the midst of a tough playoff series against the Golden State Warriors, with Game 5 being played Tuesday night at Staples Center.
Clippers Coach Doc Rivers has urged fans to come out to the game and give the team their full support.
