UCLA football: Anthony Barr, Su’a-Filo on AP All-American team
UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr was named first-team and offensive lineman Xavier Su’a-Filo second-team All-American by the Associated Press.
Barr, a senior, was considered among the top defensive players in the nations this season. He was a finalist for the Lombardi Award, given to the nation’s top defensive lineman or linebacker. He was also named Walter Camp All-American team.
Barr is fourth nationally with 20 tackles for a loss, 10 of which are sacks. He has 23.5 sacks in two seasons as a linebacker.
Su’a-Filo, a junior, was a first-team All-Pac-12 secletion. He played tackle and guard this season, excelling at both. He is projected as a high draft pick should he declare for this spring’s NFL draft.
