Pau Gasol a game-time decision Tuesday with a strained tendon in toe
An MRI exam on Monday revealed that Pau Gasol has suffered what the Lakers said is a “moderate strain of the flexor tendon of the big toe of his left foot.”
Gasol missed practice Monday to be examined by foot specialist Dr. Phillip Kwong.
The Lakers forward-center was injured in a 123-87 loss to the Clippers on Friday night.
Gasol’s status for Tuesday night’s battle against the Cleveland Cavaliers is in question. The Lakers list him as a “game-time decision.”
The Lakers (14-23) are in the middle of a significant slump, losing 10 of their last 11. Injuries have decimated the roster, helping drop the Lakers to 13th place in the Western Conference.
Gasol previously missed three games with bronchitis and a sinus infection. He also struggled earlier in the season with a sprained ankle that limited his production, but didn’t knock him out of any games.
Through 34 appearances, Gasol is averaging 15.6 points and 9.6 rebounds while shooting 44.8% from the field.
