Any hope for World Peace tonight?
And the Lakers' starting five ...
How much action will Kobe see tonight?
HONOLULU -- Kobe Bryant will play tonight against Utah in the Lakers' exhibition opener, his first game action since Jan. 21.
Don't expect many minutes from him, 15 to 20 at the most, but it'll mark Bryant's return from his most recent rehabilitation.
Last season ended for him on a night in New Orleans after a routine dunk, a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder becoming his third season-ending injury in three years.
Bryant, 37, has shown shades of his old self in training camp, converting his trademark fadeaway from the post with regularity.
He will be under a yet-to-be-disclosed minutes limit when the regular season starts, part of an effort to preserve him for a 20th NBA season.
Bryant averaged 34.5 minutes last season, a number determined in retrospect to be on high by Coach Byron Scott. Bryant also shot a career-low 37.3%, an unimpressive number he and the Lakers hope to improve.
