Watch Tiger Woods give a one-word response about Sergio Garcia
Tiger Woods gave a simple response Monday when asked if he ever thought about contacting Sergio Garcia to clear the air after their public spat at the Players Championship:
“No.”
Woods was asked the question during a news conference at Congressional Country Club to promote the AT&T; National, which benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation.
The latest disagreement between the two golfers started when Garcia blamed his bad shot on Woods’ poor timing of choosing a club some 50 yards away that caused a loud crowd reaction.
Woods said course marshals incorrectly told him Garcia had already finished his shot before he chose his club, some of the marshals essentially called Woods a liar before others came out and more or less supported Woods’ version of what happened.
At some point during all the back-and-forth, Garcia said Woods “isn’t the nicest guy on Tour.”
After the news conference Monday, Woods expanded on his one-word answer to USA Today Sports:
“Obviously, the matter has been put behind me. The truth came out. As I was saying the entire time, I told people what I had heard and what had happened.”
