Skylar Diggins gets a Mercedes as a graduation gift from Jay-Z
Skylar Diggins got a new car as a gift after graduating from Notre Dame this weekend.
Big deal, you say? Probably lots of recent college grads got the same thing? True, but she got a Mercedes.
Well, maybe some kids with rich parents had one of those bestowed upon them as well. But did any of those other kids get their sweet ride from hip-hop superstar Jay-Z?
Didn’t think so.
Diggins, the former standout guard for the Fighting Irish, signed with Jay-Z’s new sports representation agency, Roc Nation, after being drafted third overall by the Tulsa Shock in the WNBA draft.
Photos of the recent grad discovering her gift, which came complete with a red bow and a card signed by Jay-Z, were posted by Diggins and Roc Nation.
Diggins also expressed her excitement on Twitter:
Got surprised with a new mercedes! Thanks so muchto Jay and @rocnation, and @dancyautogroup! instagram.com/p/ZgaVvqQYn9/ — Skylar Diggins (@SkyDigg4) May 19, 2013
I got 99 problems, but a BENZ ain’t one. — Skylar Diggins (@SkyDigg4) May 19, 2013
Diggins was a management-entrepreneurship major of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, which is the top-ranked undergraduate business program in the country, according to Bloomberg Business.
She was the third high-profile sports signee for Roc Nation, following the New York Yankees’ Robinson Canoe and the New York Giants’ Victor Cruz.
And if this is any indication of how it treats its clients, the agency just may have some more coming its way.
