Chargers’ Keenan Allen posts video of self wearing Raiders cap
Keenan Allen might want to take a quick glance in the mirror before posting another video online. That way he can avoid embarrassing himself like he did with his recent Vine post.
No, he didn’t have food stuck in his teeth or something hanging out of his nose. No hair was out of place and there wasn’t a smudge on his face. His offense was much, much worse.
The third-round draft pick of the San Diego Chargers was wearing an Oakland Raiders cap.
He also had a really goofy look on his face while sipping out of a straw at In-N-Out Burger. But that’s beside the point.
Needless to say, Chargers fans on Twitter were all over the soon-to-be rookie for sporting the logo of an AFC West rival, even if the Raiders were his local team during his years at California.
Allen got the message pretty fast.
I get it fans!!!! Won’t happen again! — Keenan Allen (@KAAdeuce1) May 18, 2013
I apologize! — Keenan Allen (@KAAdeuce1) May 18, 2013
Of course, that wasn’t good enough for some fans.
@boltman1904 @bolts709 @aschallphoto @kaadeuce1 I know he apologized. Still unexeceptable! Common sense! Burning the hat would be legendary! — Ricky Whitlock (@rickywhitlock) May 20, 2013
Chances are, Allen will be hearing about this from fans for quite a while. And just wait until he meets up with his new teammates at training camp.
His first chance to really put all this behind him will come Oct. 6, when the Chargers play the Raiders in Oakland. He can really get into everyone’s good graces by putting on a show that day.
Or he could just do the hat-burning thing.
