Ronaiah Tuiasosopo tells Dr. Phil he was in love with Manti Te’o
Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the alleged perpetrator of the fake-girlfriend hoax that ensnared Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o, told Dr. Phil McGraw that he “fell deeply, romantically in love” with Te’o.
McGraw related that bit of news on the “Today” show Wednesday. He was on the show to hype his interview with Tuiasosopo, which will air Thursday and Friday on his syndicated “Dr. Phil” show.
“I asked him, straight up, was this a romantic relationship with you?” McGraw said. “And he says, ‘yes.’ I then said, ‘Are you then, therefore, gay?’ He says, ‘Well, when you put it that way, yes.’ And then, he caught himself and said, ‘I am confused.’”
McGraw also said that “absolutely, unequivocally” Te’o had no role in creating the hoax.
So, the Te’o story spins merrily on. All we need now are reports of space aliens and an Elvis sighting to make the story complete.
