The Happiest Place on Earth will now be the first “super” COVID-19 vaccination site in Orange County.

With Disneyland closed during the pandemic, reporter Matthew Ormseth writes that the Orange County Board of Supervisors said the Anaheim theme park will be one of five large “point-of-dispensing” sites that collectively would be able to vaccinate thousands of residents each day.

Vaccinations are expected to be given this week to workers in healthcare and long-term care facilities, and residents 65 and older. An appointment is needed for the site at Disneyland.

The Orange County Health Care Agency on Tuesday reported 3,824 cases and 28 deaths. There are 2,200 hospitalizations due to the coronavirus, with 535 of those patients in ICU.
