The United States Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Border Patrol worked jointly to intercept a vessel that contained 333 pounds of methamphetamine Monday off the coast of Huntington Beach, officials said.

The vessel had departed from Mexico and was headed for the U.S., according to a news release. Officials said two male Mexican nationals on board were arrested and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.

The vessel was inspected at the U.S. Coast Guard station in Long Beach after being interdicted by a Coast Guard cutter at about 7:30 a.m. Monday, the release said. A field test confirmed that the substance was methamphetamine.

According to the U.S. Border Patrol officers, the methamphetamine on board had an estimated street value of $915,750.

The U.S. attorney’s office in the Central District of California has accepted the case for federal prosecution, the release said.
