Actor John Stamos returns home after DUI arrest
Actor John Stamos has returned home after he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Friday night and hospitalized, according to a post on his Twitter account Saturday morning.
“Thanks to everyone for their love & support,” the tweet reads. “I’m home & well. Very appreciative of the BHPD & Cedars for their care.”
The former “Full House” star was pulled over a few blocks from Beverly Hills City Hall around 7:45 p.m. Friday after police received several calls about a possibly intoxicated driver nearby, said Sgt. David Armour of the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Firefighters took Stamos to a hospital for an unspecified medical condition, where authorities later discovered that he had been driving under the influence, Armour said.
Stamos, 51, was issued a citation for DUI and released to the hospital. A hearing is scheduled at the Airport Courthouse near Los Angeles International Airport on Sept. 11.
