Earthquake: 3.8 quake strikes near Indio, Calif.
A shallow, magnitude 3.8 earthquake was reported Friday evening 11 miles from Indio, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 10:23 p.m. at a depth of 3.7 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 13 miles from Coachella, 17 miles from Palm Desert and 17 miles from La Quinta.
In the past 10 days, there have been three earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
