Earthquake: 3.1 quake strikes near Kernville
A shallow magnitude 3.1 earthquake was reported Sunday evening 30 miles from Kernville, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:30 p.m. at a depth of 1.9 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 39 miles from Porterville, 42 miles from Lindsay, and 45 miles from Exeter.
In the past ten days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
