Krispy Kreme introduces two new coffee-flavored doughnuts
Krispy Kreme, the doughnut chain famous for its original glazed doughnut, is introducing two new coffee-flavored varieties to the menu.
A Mocha Kreme doughnut and a Caramel Coffee Kreme doughnut are now available at participating Krispy Kreme locations.
The Mocha Kreme is filled with a chocolate- and coffee-flavored cream and topped with mocha-, milk- and chocolate-flavored icings.
The Caramel Coffee Kreme is a glazed doughnut topped with caramel and coffee-flavored icing, a mocha drizzle and a dollop of what the chain is calling “coffee Kreme.”
“Coffee and doughnuts are natural companions, said Krispy Kreme brand development manager Stephanie Nelson. “The rich lattes and mochas we enjoy every day were the inspiration behind these decadent doughnuts.”
The doughnuts will be available for a limited time through March 30.
The vision of a lighted Krispy Kreme “hot doughnuts now sign” started a frenzy when the North Carolina-based chain first opened in La Habra in 1999. The now-closed location sold 20 million doughnuts and had $9 million in sales in its first year.
