Bourdain on tour; secret dessert at BierBeisl; Bishop’s Roast

ANTHONY BOURDAIN: Chef-TV-personality Anthony Bourdain embarks on his multinational (the U.S. and Canada) speaking tour, dubbed “Guts and Glory,” stopping on the West Coast after the holidays. Tickets go on sale Friday morning for his Los Angeles appearance with Roy Choi on April 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pantages Theater. BIERBEISL, OFF THE MENU: BierBeisl chef Bernhard Mairinger, who also has taken on the role of pastry chef, is making an off-the-menu dessert that you’ll have to ask for by describing it (it doesn’t have a name). BISHOP’S ROAST AT THE PARISH: The Parish downtown now offers whole roasted chicken -- the Bishop’s Roast -- prepared nightly on its newly installed rotisserie for $75. The rotisserie chicken serves two to four people and is served with country-style ratatouille and a growler of Black Market Contraband Beer.
