FX had good news for fans of its ‘80s-era spy drama “The Americans”: The show has been renewed for two more seasons.

The bad news? The show, much like the Cold War, is drawing to a close with those final two installments, which will stretch over the next two years with a 13-episode fifth season in 2017 followed by a 10-episode final season in 2018.

“It’s hard to believe we’re heading into the final stretch on ‘The Americans,’ and we’re so grateful to know we’ll be telling the story to its conclusion,” said series executive producers and showrunners Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg in a statement released by the network. “We’re looking forward to the final two [seasons].”

The show will continue to follow the fraught and often lethal mix of espionage and raising a family in the arranged marriage between two Russian spies portrayed by Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell. The finale for Season 4 of “The Americans” will air Wednesday, June 8, at 10 p.m. on FX.
