Zach Galifianakis, is that you? Actor changes look with weight loss, shave
Zach Galifianakis has shed his signature beard in what appears to be the latest phase of his dramatic makeover.
The “Birdman” actor, who accepted the SAG Award for film ensemble with co-stars Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Edward Norton, Amy Ryan and Naomi Watts on Sunday, was almost unrecognizable onstage at the Shrine Auditorium and throughout the evening.

The once-hirsute 45-year-old, who plays Keaton’s attorney in the comedy, had already made headlines in October with his fitter physique at a “Birdman” screening at the New York Film Festival. But the pulled-back coif and near-clean shave he sported on Sunday did away with much of the shaggy identifiers that we’ve come to know and love.
“The Hangover” alum and “Between Two Ferns” host was part of the awards show’s traditional opening, following Jennifer Aniston and Robert Duvall’s detailed accounts of becoming actors. When the camera hit Galifianakis, all he said was “I’m Zach Galifianakis ... I’m an actor.” As if the self-identification was all we needed. (OK, it kind of was!)
Galifianakis admitted in October that he didn’t care for the limelight that coincides with his craft.

“Being a celebrity is ... it’s dumb, and I’m not interested in it,” he told Us Weekly. “I like to be an actor, and that’s it. The blurred lines are, I think, manmade. I think celebrity is a manmade thing; it’s not innate in us. ... I’d rather just do my work and go home and watch Lifetime.”
