William, Catherine and their royal babies pose for casual Christmas portrait
The royal family is holiday card-ready!
William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have released a holiday portrait showcasing their family of four and some prime royal baby smiles.
The image, released Friday, was taken by photographer Chris Jelf in October. In it, Prince George, 2, and his younger sister Princess Charlotte, 7 months, join their crouching parents for a casual outdoor photo op at Kensington Palace. While Catherine and the kids have their eyes on the lens, Wills is busy looking at his little family. Charlotte’s missing a shoe too, but it’s perched right next to a little red train that also made it into the snapshot.

“I thoroughly enjoyed photographing a very lovely family, although you have to be sharp as you don’t have long when there are two young children involved!” Jelf said. “I hope everyone enjoys this photo and I am honored that the Duke and Duchess have decided to share it with the public.”
William, the second in line to the British throne, and Catherine said that they’re “hugely appreciative” of the warm messages they received about their family this year and are “very much looking forward to their first Christmas as a family of four,” according to palace officials.
Little Charlotte hadn’t been seen much in public since her July christening, but late last month, the couple shared two images of the gregarious baby taken by Catherine at the couple’s Norfolk home.
Also on Friday, the palace announced that Prince George would be heading off to Westacre Montessori School Nursery in Norfolk before the end of January.
The school officials said they are “looking forward to welcoming George to our nursery where he will get the same special experience as all of our children.”
Hey, even a future king has to start somewhere.
