Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are parents to a baby girl, reports say

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes -- who never confirmed they were expecting a baby -- are reportedly new parents.

A baby girl was born to the costars of “The Place Beyond the Pines” on Friday, sources told Us Weekly on Tuesday. No details, including the baby’s name, were immediately available.

People magazine said it had confirmed the birth as well.

News that Gosling and Mendes had a baby on the way broke early in July, with OK magazine declaring her to be seven months’ pregnant and other publications chiming in afterward with their own sources confirming the story.

The couple, who’ve been living in his Studio City home, adjusted their lifestyles immediately after learning she was pregnant, People reported in mid-July.

Mendes “barely left the house” in recent months, a source told the magazine at the time. “Ryan has been taking care of her, picking up food and running errands. He has been very supportive about keeping things a secret,” the source said.

Mendes appeared at a New York & Co. launch event on March 18 in a dress that could have hidden a wee baby bump, and, according to Us Weekly, last hit a red carpet in late February. Paparazzi caught her trying to cover her midsection in early July. (Seriously, who carries a blanket and a jacket in the middle of summer?)

Gosling, whose tuxedo-clad wax replica was revealed at Madame Tussauds in London on July 23, hit the Cannes Film Festival in May, but has remained similarly low-profile in recent months. Still, a guy’s gotta fill the tank sometime.

Reps for Mendes and Gosling did not immediately reply to the Los Angeles Times’ requests for comment.

Not surprising, given that, according to People’s source, she “hasn’t ever wanted anyone beyond her close friends and family knowing more than they had to.”
