Eva Mendes pregnant with Ryan Gosling’s baby, several reports now say
What is it lately with folks wanting Ryan Gosling to be a father? Well, it seems they’re getting their wish, as Eva Mendes is reportedly pregnant with the “Notebook” actor’s baby.
The news, which broke early Wednesday courtesy of OK Magazine, faced initial skepticism as outlets worked to get independent confirmation. By the afternoon, People, “Access Hollywood” and Us Weekly sources had all given the story a thumbs up.
Hey, we told you we’d get back with an update! Alas, Mendes’ rep did not respond to a Los Angeles Times request for comment.
The OK report declared Eva Mendes to be seven months pregnant, which would make sense, as she hasn’t been photographed publicly since March. Reverse engineering (or, as some call it, “counting backward”) would suggest her baby bump would have made its presence known around that time.
The baby news comes after a Father’s Day Facebook hoax that fooled at least a million people on the social site with a claim that Gosling, 33, had adopted a child on his own.
Mendes, 40, previously fended off pregnancy rumors in February, telling Ellen DeGeneres that they’d started after she was spotted refusing to go through an airport’s full-body scanner, opting instead for a personal pat-down. She said that was her usual m.o.
The two are notoriously private about their relationship, which started in September 2011. Gosling was photographed at her home in February, so odds were they were at least kissing or something. As consenting adults are wont to do.
The OK story said the “Hitch” actress is now living “a dream come true,” which must be swell for her. Oh, yeah, she’s also allegedly hot to marry Gosling before the baby comes, so dang, they’d better step on it.
A Mendes friend didn’t mention wedding plans to People but characterized the mom-to-be as “very independent but ... content with her partner” despite previous accounts alleging she wasn’t really into marriage.
How long until the contractions start?
