Mariah Carey gives billionaire boyfriend a shout-out saying he’s her ‘Hero’
Mariah Carey has a new heart, and it’s all thanks to billionaire James Packer.
The “Infinity” songstress, who split from husband Nick Cannon last summer, gave her new beau a loving shout-out during her “#1 to Infinity” Las Vegas show at Caesars Palace on Wednesday, dedicating her 1993 hit “Hero” to the Aussie businessman.
“I got a new heart tonight. James is in the house. Thank you for my heart. I dedicate this next song to you,” she told the crowd, via TMZ, before singing the uplifting ballad.
The site said that Carey and Packer reunited this week after spending two weeks apart. They had dinner in Vegas, and he had 1,000 roses delivered to her house, the site said.
Cardiac declarations and floral arrangements aside, the chanteuse was first linked to the gaming mogul last month just before they cruised the Meditteranean together along with her twin son and daughter, Moroccan and Monroe.
After that, Packer took the Grammy winner to Israel for the first time where they went on “a spiritual journey” together while visiting Tel Aviv and the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem, E! News reported. Packer is said to be friends with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, TMZ said.
On Thursday, Carey announced that she would hold her first concert in Israel this August.
“Shalom Israel, I will be coming to see you live on August 18, so come to see me! Shalom,” she said in a video tweet.
The Grammy winner, 45, and Packer, 47, the latter of whom Forbes estimates is worth about $4.6 billion, reportedly met through a mutual friend -- director-producer Brett Ratner. Insiders said that the singer played hard to get while Packer pursued her for months.
