Kimora Lee Simmons confirms split with Djimon Hounsou
Kimora Lee Simmons and actor Djimon Hounsou have separated after 5½ years together, she confirmed Wednesday on Twitter.
“There have been quite a few hurtful rumors circulating,” she wrote. “The truth is Djimon+I have been separated for some time. We have remained happy, loving, co-parenting friends+family. We all have much to be thankful for. #HappyThanksgiving”
Simmons’ rep confirmed the split with People, noting that although “Gladiator” actor Hounsou, 48, and Simmons, 37, never married, they have one child together, 3½-year-old Kenzo.
Simmons — a model and TV personality who’s also the president and creative director of fashion line JustFab — has two daughters, ages 12 and 10, with ex-husband Russell Simmons, the hip-hop mogul.
