Kim Kardashian, Kanye West engaged after a grand proposal
Tuesday not only was Kim Kardashian¿s 33rd birthday, but also the day she broke news of her surprise grand proposal from beau Kanye West.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are engaged after an elaborate proposal by the rapper that involved renting out a baseball stadium and hiring a 50-piece orchestra. On her 33rd birthday, no less.
“YES!!!” Kardashian tweeted Tuesday morning along with a photo of her 15-carat diamond ring, with the scoreboard in the background reading, “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!”
West popped the question — reportedly down on one knee — Monday night in San Francisco, where according to E! News he’d acquired use of AT&T Park for the evening.
Just before the proposal, he’d been at the 2013 Hollywood Film Awards in L.A., presenting a special honor to “12 Years a Slave” director Steve McQueen, so the surprise was amplified.
With family and friends of the couple present at the home of the San Francisco Giants (but not North; the baby was tucked safely away from the night chill) the orchestra played Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful” and Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo and West’s “Knock You Down,” and fireworks exploded into the night, E! reported.
“Wow!!!!! Am I dreaming??!?!,” sister Khloe tweeted around midnight. “Tears of JOY!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!”
Kris Jenner told E! it was “a match made in heaven,” adding, “”I am so happy for both of my kids, Kim and Kanye.”
It’ll be the third marriage for Kardashian, who was previously, albeit briefly, wed to Kris Humphries, and before that to music producer Damon Thomas.
West has not been married before, and if this low-key affair is how he proposes, we can’t wait to see the spectacular way he ties the knot.
