Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik spark dating rumors with two sightings
Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik’s latest encounter is being touted as an official date and couple-making meet-up.
The supermodel and the former One Direction singer were spotted together Tuesday as they hit West Hollywood hot spot the Nice Guy for a second time, only two days after they were both there for Justin Bieber’s American Music Awards after party.
Relationship rumors began Sunday after the Victoria’s Secret model left the party, walked down the block and, according to an Us Weekly source, got into Malik’s waiting car. Apparently, they’ve been “hanging out” for only a couple of weeks, an Us source said.
On Tuesday, Hadid, 20, and Malik, 22, arrived at the party casually dressed -- she in glasses, a crop top and casual jeans and he in a T-shirt -- at about 10:30 p.m., according to TMZ, and entered from the back as security attempted to obscure them from photographers’ view. They left together about two hours later, the site said.
Insiders told E! News that the pair grabbed dinner there with Hadid’s younger sister, Bella Hadid, but that didn’t stop them from packing in the PDA.
“Gigi and Zayn couldn’t keep their hands off each other,” a source told the outlet. “They were holding hands under the table, whispering in each others’ ears, and Zayn [was] holding Gigi’s leg. Gigi was so attached to him that she even followed Zayn outside to the patio during a smoke break.”
But it might still be too soon to call them a couple, with another source telling E! that they’re just friends and “are casually hanging out.” That’s a different tune from Us Weekly, which first reported that they two were indeed dating on Monday and had a similar encounter at the Nice Guy on Tuesday night.
The Balmain model, who is the daughter of real estate mogul Mohamed Hadid and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Yolanda Foster, only recently called it quits with boyfriend Joe Jonas after about five months of dating. Malik, who left his British boy band last March to work on his own music, called off his two-year engagement to Little Mix member Perrie Edwards last August.
Coincidentally, Hadid had an awkward encounter with one of Malik’s former bandmates Sunday on the AMAs red carpet. The model, a prominent member of singer Taylor Swift’s squad, was ushered onto E!’s interview platform as the guys were leaving. E! personality Giuliana Rancic asked Hadid if she’d ever met the band, to which she replied “kinda.” Then she and Styles, one of Swift’s exes, exchanged an awkward handshake as she went on to hug the three other members of the band.
