G.I. Joe no more: Gigi Hadid, Joe Jonas have split
G.I. Joe has come to a halt: Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas have called it quits on their five-month romance.
The rising supermodel and the singer broke up recently, according to People magazine, but reportedly remain on good terms. (And perhaps still hold the best celebrity moniker mash-up of all time.)
“Nothing serious happened ... it wasn’t a dramatic breakup,” a source told the mag. “It was just hard to make it work with their schedules. They will definitely remain friends.”
“They still remain friends but their schedules started affecting their relationship,” another source told E! News.
The former Jonas Brother is revving up to tour with his band DNCE, and Hadid, whose face is appearing in just about every modeling campaign, was recently tapped to walk in this month’s 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Jonas, 26, has pursued Hadid, 20, since they met at the 2010 Grammy Awards. The two remained friends over the years and have been sparking relationship rumors since last fall -- rumors they often relegated to the friend zone. Jonas ended his relationship with longtime girlfriend Blanda Eggenschwiler in August 2014, and in May 2015, the two were spotted together after Hadid split from singer Cody Simpson.
The comely pair took their relationship public in June and worked together on DNCE’s music video, “Cake by the Ocean,” which Hadid co-directed.
Though often photographed in each other’s company, just last month they stepped out on their first red carpet together at the Global Lyme Alliance inaugural gala, which honored Hadid’s mom, Yolanda Foster of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” fame.
